Brew Launch Their New Bloom Metric
Founded by industrial designer Jonathan Ferrer, Brew Watch Co. has carved out a unique place in the microbrand world by turning coffee culture into compelling watch design. Its latest release, the new Metric Bloom, might just be the brand’s warmest and most visually playful execution yet.
Inspired by the swirling movement of espresso as it pours into a cup, the Metric Bloom leans heavily into texture, colour and fluidity. The dial is the star of the show here, with a gradient copper and brown finish that genuinely resembles crema dispersing across fresh coffee. It is a clever concept and, importantly, one that does not feel gimmicky once translated onto the wrist.
The familiar Metric case remains, and that is no bad thing. At 36mm, the rounded square profile continues to be one of the most wearable and distinctive designs in the accessible microbrand space. The compact dimensions, integrated bracelet styling and brushed finishing give the watch a strong retro futuristic feel, something Brew has become exceptionally good at over the past few years.
Inside sits the brand’s dependable meca quartz chronograph movement, helping keep the overall case slim while still delivering that satisfying mechanical chronograph hand sweep. It is part of what makes Brew watches so appealing in daily wear. They feel fun and design led without becoming overly precious or difficult to live with.
What makes the Bloom especially interesting is how different it feels from the colder industrial tones we often see in modern sports watches. This release is softer, richer and more emotive. The copper tones catch the light beautifully and give the watch an almost autumnal warmth that feels quite unlike anything else around the sub $500 mark.
At £357.00, the Metric Bloom continues Brew’s formula of delivering strong originality without pushing into unattainable pricing territory. In a market increasingly flooded with vintage inspired homages, Brew continues to do something refreshingly different by building watches around everyday rituals and experiences.
For collectors already familiar with Brew, the Bloom feels like a natural evolution of the Metric line. For newcomers, it might actually be the perfect entry point.
