Loresum Wow With Their New Stone Dial Moonphase - The LS04 V2
Moonphase complications have long been associated with high end watchmaking. They are visually captivating but often come with a price tag that keeps them firmly out of reach for many collectors. Loresum has been steadily working to change that narrative, and the latest LS04 V2 brings a fresh twist with a series of striking natural stone dials.
Following the introduction of the LS04 in a compact 36.5 mm case, the brand has now unveiled four new dial variants crafted from natural stone. Aventurine, Eisenkiesel, Bloodstone and Garnet each bring a completely different look to the watch. The appeal of stone is simple. Every dial is cut from a unique piece of material, meaning the colours, patterns and textures will never be identical. The result is a watch that feels genuinely individual on the wrist.
At the heart of the LS04 V2 sits a true 29.5 day moonphase complication using a Sellita SW200-1 movement, designed to track the lunar cycle as it appears in the night sky. The system uses a dedicated module with a 59 tooth gear to accurately represent the waxing and waning phases of the moon as it moves across the dial. Complications of this type are usually reserved for far more expensive watches, making its appearance here particularly compelling.
The moonphase display itself is designed to be the focal point. A detailed moon disc sits within a polished frame, while the hands ensure the display remains visible without obstructing the dial beneath. Luminous elements help maintain legibility when the light fades, while applied indices keep the layout clean and balanced.
Beyond the complication, the LS04 platform is built around practical everyday dimensions. Previous versions feature a stainless steel case measuring around 39.5 mm in diameter with a domed sapphire crystal and a slim overall profile that keeps the watch wearable across a wide range of wrists. Water resistance is rated to 50 metres, and an automatic movement powers the watch with reliable daily performance.
But the real talking point here is the dial selection. Aventurine delivers a deep shimmering effect that resembles a star filled night sky. Eisenkiesel introduces warm earthy tones with natural mineral patterns. Bloodstone offers rich green with distinctive red flecks, while Garnet provides a darker, more dramatic aesthetic. Each material reflects light differently, meaning the watch constantly shifts character depending on the angle and environment.
For collectors drawn to watches with strong visual identity, the LS04 V2 offers something refreshingly different. A true moonphase complication paired with genuine stone dials is an unusual combination at this level, and it ensures that no two pieces will ever look exactly the same.
