Swatch MoonSwatch Snoopy Review – The Most Charming Collab Yet?

The Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch collection series needs no introduction at this point – it’s the hype machine that brought Omega Speedmaster styling to the masses with it's affordable collection of funky and practical time pieces to the high street (and for Instagram, TikTok... you name it).
But with the Mission to the Moon, Swatch dropped its most playful (and dare we say meaningful?) piece yet – and yes, it’s got Snoopy on the moon.
The "Moonswatch" dates back to the 1965 when the Omega Speedmaster was officially selected as the official watch of the NASA manned space missions. This was a huge feather in the cap of space exploration and one which surely not even Omega saw as a flat-out 'win'.
The collaboration between Swatch and Omega, was inspired by this time in history, pardon the pun, which bought the Omega brand as one recognised globally as the cool, classy brand everyone wants.
While the Omega Speedmaster, specifically the model worn on the moon, is often referred to as the "Moonwatch," the MoonSwatch is a more recent release inspired by this iconic watch in 2022. The year of the first "Moonswatch" is not a specific year of the watch's release, but rather the year of the Omega Speedmaster's qualification for space missions, which is 1965. The Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch collection is a more recent release, and it was released on March 26, 2022, with 11 unique designs.
So, was this just a gimmick designed to ride on the wave of success or is this a serious option that us diehard watch enthusiasts need to take note of?
Let’s take a look.

First Impressions
At a glance, this is clearly Omega inspired with familiar Speedmaster lines, but with a bioceramiccase, playful colours. But zoom in, and that’s where the charm hits. The clean black case and dial are matched by subtle silver accents and the star of the show, a moonphase subdial at 2 o’clock featuring our favourite NASA Beagle, Snoopy, napping on the moon. It’s very coo!.
The detailing on the moonphase disc is genuinely impressive for a £240 watch, and the white-on-white aesthetic feels… elegant? Minimal? Genuinely wearable? It shouldn't work. But it does.
The Build
Light, Fun, Fragile Let’s get real, this is a Swatch. You’re not buying high-end finishing or heirloom-grade materials.
The acrylic crystal will scratch if you so much as sneeze in its direction, and 30m of water resistance means this is a "paddling pool" kind of watch. But the bioceramic case feels good on the wrist – soft, matte, and lightweight (very lightweight). And that velcro strap? Surprisingly comfy (though it is quite short and does scream “utility piece” more than “dress watch”).
The Movement
Simple but Smart Under the fun stuff is a quartz chronograph with moonphase, not something you see every day at this price point. The chronograph works as expected (basic, but it clicks), and the moonphase disc isn’t just for show – it’s functional, and adds a genuine layer of visual interest. No sweeping seconds hand here.
But it tells the time, tracks the moon, and gives you Snoopy. And really, what more do you want from a £250 plastic Speedmaster?
On the Wrist
Lightweight & Charismatic. There is an unfortunate initial thought that it’s a bit too good to be true and something is not quite right. Have I bought a Turkey special, but no, it's legit, and to be honest this is one of the easiest-wearing watches on the market.
The black palette makes it feel smaller than its 42mm size, and the weight (or lack of it) means it disappears on the wrist. You’re not wearing this for stealth – it will get looks – but it’s surprisingly versatile and can be worn for most occasions.
Obviously a trip to the Ritz may not be the best place to wear this, but with jeans and a t-shirt? Perfect. Under a shirt cuff? equally attractive. Paired with a techy nerd's sense of humour? Even better. That’s me by the way!
The Verdict
This actually delivers. Let’s not pretend this is a serious heirloom watch. It’s not. But as a fun, wearable nod to Omega history, NASA nostalgia, and Charles Schulz’s most lovable creation, the Mission to the Moon might just be the most charming release in the MoonSwatch lineup.
Yes, it’ll scratch. Yes, it's not the best movement, Yes, flippers list them at ridiculous prices online. But if you can grab one at a sensible price you’re getting more than a gimmick – you’re getting a quartz-powered smile on your wrist.
✅ Genuine moonphase complication
✅ Light, wearable, joyful
✅ Snoopy. On the Moon. Come on.
❌ Acrylic scratches if you look at it funny
❌ No water resistance to speak of
❌ You’ll probably struggle to find one at a good price
Final Rating: 7.0/10 – A plastic space watch with real heart.
