Unimatic Goes Titanium with the New Modello Quattro UT4-U-TI-GMT

Unimatic has expanded its growing Toolwatch collection with the release of the new Modello Quattro UT4-U-TI-GMT, a lightweight titanium take on the brand's distinctive quartz powered GMT. Limited to just 99 pieces, the latest release refines the formula with a Grade 2 titanium case, improved legibility and the same rugged, purpose built construction that has become a hallmark of the Italian microbrand.

At first glance, the UT4-U-TI-GMT looks familiar. The angular Modello Quattro case architecture remains intact, retaining its distinctive flat bezel and minimalist military inspired aesthetic. However, swapping stainless steel for sandblasted Grade 2 titanium significantly reduces weight on the wrist while also giving the watch a darker, more utilitarian appearance. Measuring 40mm across, 49mm lug to lug and 12mm thick, it strikes a versatile balance between presence and wearability.

The matte black dial has also been revised. Large Arabic numerals filled with Super LumiNova now dominate the display, offering greater at a glance legibility than previous iterations. A date window sits neatly at 6 o'clock, while a digital style aperture at 12 o'clock displays a second time zone via a rotating 24 hour disc. Orange accents on the GMT indicator, seconds hand and inner shock protection ring add just enough contrast without distracting from the tool watch focus.

Powering the watch is the Swiss made Ronda 515.24D quartz GMT calibre. The movement delivers a claimed accuracy of +20/-1 seconds per month and offers an impressive battery life of around 45 months. Unlike traditional GMT watches, the aperture display allows the wearer to track a second time zone in a highly intuitive format while maintaining the clean, uncluttered look that Unimatic is known for.

Built as a genuine tool watch, the UT4-U-TI-GMT features Unimatic's proprietary 360 degree anti shock protection system, a screw down crown, anti reflective sapphire crystal and a robust 300 metres of water resistance. It is paired with a black and International Orange three layer nylon strap secured by a titanium buckle.

Priced at £670 and limited to just 99 individually numbered pieces, the UT4-U-TI-GMT continues Unimatic's mission of creating highly functional, military inspired watches that place usability ahead of unnecessary complexity. For frequent travellers or anyone looking for a lightweight and genuinely rugged GMT, this latest titanium edition may be one of the brand's strongest releases to date.
